Happy 2nd Birthday Tyler and Emily!

Happy Birthday Tyler and Emily, the big 2 year olds!

We love you so much!

A New Way to Nap

During his nap, he decided no pants and socks were the most comfortable way to sleep. He tossed them out of his crib.

Fort Drewry trip

A cannon that still remains at the fort

Forever the archaeologist, looking for artifacts!

The Kinzer Clan, the site of the fort is behind us.

Packing up after the big hike

Heading home
On Sunday, 2-14-09, we headed to Petersburg to see the battlefields. We arrived later in the day so were only able to see one site, Fort Drewry. Actually this one site was perfect for this big pregnant mama. We walked the trail, Caelan enjoyed a pack ride, to the fort.
It was a beautiful day and perfect for a history lesson.
The first shots were fired in the campaign to capture Richmond that would last from 1862 to 1865. This was a Confederate fort named Fort Drewry by southerners and Fort Darling by the Federals along the James River, 7 miles south of Richmond. Later in the war, Drewry Bluff became the site of the Confederate Naval Academy and the Marine Corps Camp of Instruction.

Happy Valentine's Day!

To all our loved ones!
Hope you've been hit by cupid's arrow!
If apples were pears
And peaches were plums
And the rose had a different name.
If tigers were bears
And fingers were thumbs
We'd love you just the same.
(Hee!)
Happy Valentine's Day!

Mom's Group Valentine Day Party

Caelan provides some musical entertainment for the party.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Don't worry about a thing Adelyn, I've got it covered!

Peek-a-Boo Cupid

"The Couch Picture", every festivity requires a picture of the kids on the couch. Caelan, Adelyn, Sophie and Maggie. (Check out Feb 2008 Valentine's Day party pic) Maggie's mom, Carrie brought in a picture of last year's Valentine's Day party. These cute little cupids were tiny little babes.

Serious about his backhoe!

Caelan lives on his backhoe. This particular day he wasn't messin around, he had some serious diggin to do!

Almost Famous?

This weekend we were out for a family dinner at our favorite Italian restuarant. Caelan was enjoying his noodles and sauce, a man walked by and told us "Now that is a picture for the front cover". He owns one of the newspapers in the area "Our Town" and said Caelan could be on the cover. Jokingly I told him "Do it!". He said "Wait just a minute, I'm going to get my camera." He returned and shot many pics of the little man. Soooooo, around March keep a look out for Caelan's cute little face on the cover of "Our Town".

Eatin' Like a Big Boy

I saw Caelan sitting at the table, eating from a plate. I was gleeming with pride!! Then right after this picture he flipped the plate over and smeared the food everywhere. Oh well, baby steps. Hee. (Or do I see an abstract artist creating his early works?)

Houdini in his Jammies

2/7/09 Yesterday morning, Shawn went into Caelan's room to get him out. We have a fun little thing we do with him, we'll knock on his door before we go in, just so we can hear him say, Haooooo. Well after Shawn picked him up I could hear him telling Caelan to go show mommy. Go show mommy what happened. (I was still in bed.) He came in our room dressed like this. I laughed so hard. How he did this I'm not sure, cuz his pajamas were still snapped in the back! Ha!

Lil Baby K - 32 weeks

We are 32 weeks along and doing great. Caelan (17 mos old) can actually outrun me right now but I tell him just wait, I won't be this slow forever, hee!

All Tuckered Out

How sweet!

Snow in Arlington?

This was officially the biggest snow storm I have ever seen in Arlington Virginia. We've had our share of flurries, but this "storm" made me stop in awe. It reminded me of home. Mmmmmm...

Another Caelan Tale

So the other day Caelan was down for a nap, or so I thought. I was in the livingroom and heard this strange squeeky sound coming from Caelan's room. I sat there for a moment, trying to figure out what the heck the sound was. Then it dawned on me (before I go any further, I have to mention I take 90% blame for what I saw upon entering his room) I had forgotten I left a box next to his crib that had large styrofoam forms stored in it. Well he had broken up these forms creating a very large snow drift of styrofoam balls in his crib. There was so much styrofoam, I had to laugh really hard. It actually got everywhere. He was covered from head to toe. I thought to take a picture about half way through the clean up. Those stinkin little balls were so hard to clean up, I tried using a dustbuster and all it did was suck them up and spit them out the back. I was so mad I had to laugh again. Caelan was just staring at me the whole time. My mom is crazy!

A Master's Piece of Work

I had to show off the "Pizza Master's" work. Half BBQ chicken and half supreme. Ahhhh, the best of both worlds. Shawn's pizza is incredible!

A Grandma Betty Christmas

1/21/09 When we arrived back in DC we had two huge boxes of Christmas gifts, from Grandma Betty, waiting for us. Caelan saw all those presents and his eyes went wide. Wow, we get to have another Christmas! We received so many wonderful gifts, each one special!

Goodbye to the Cousins

The kids have a pj party before Caelan and I fly home
the following day to see daddy!

Bouncin' in Bouncetown

Caelan and I went to Bouncetown with all the cousins. What an amazing place to burn some major energy. This place was a converted warehouse with three seperate rooms each containing 3-5 moon jumps and moon jump slides. Everyone had an incredible time. I myself, being in the pregnant state I'm in, was a lil' bummed not to be jumpin with everyone. Oh well, next time!
