Big Trip to Davenport

We surprised Grandma Betty with our arrival!

Shawn and Caelan try on all their St Patrick's Day gear

Grandma Betty had some gear to try on as well!

The big Davenport St. Patrick's Day Parade

This was a float that from the Ironworkers Local
that Shawn's dad belonged to

Caelan earned his beads. Cuteness counts!!!!!

Caelan checks to make sure this is our hotel room

We went to visit Grandpa Ron, Shawn's Dad

Biker Buddies! Caelan meets his cousin, Jackson.
Jackson had just turned two, the previous weekend.
The "Gator" was a hit! Caelan and Jackson took turns driving
Jackson's motorized Gator, around and around and around,
the back yard.

Caelan found his special entrance,
at a local restaurant in Davenport.

Caelan was trying to talk to Joe, Grandma Betty's dog.

One last feast with the cousins, Tyler, Jaedyn, Megan and Emily,
before our big drive back to DC.

Did someone say that Elmo was on TV?

Special time with cousin Megan

On 3/11/09 we began our big trek to Davenport, Iowa. The drive took us about 14 hours, not bad considering we were guessing a journey of two days, and many, many stops for this big mama! We made a pit stop in Aurora so we could catch up on our sleep, which Caelan did very little of on the ride out there, and get some hugs from Grandma and Papa George before heading to Davenport. The following day we drove to Davenport to surprise Grandma Betty. Grandma has recently found out about some medical issues and needed to have surgery. We thought she needed some extra love and support, so we decided to drive out to be with her. She was soooooo surprised! The trip to Davenport was full of family visits. We had a wonderful time being with everyone! On 3/20 we drove back to Grandma and Papa's house for some more hugs and play time with the cousins. Then on Sunday 3/22 we head out for our return to DC.

We had such a wonderful time with both our families. And will sincerely cherish the time we were blessed to have with everyone!

Sunday Trip to Annapolis, MD

Thar she blows!

Our ship comes in.....The Lady Sarah
We took a 40 min boat tour.

Snuggled up. The breeze was a tad chilly.

Harbor

Mr. Obama was more than happy to take a quick pic with Caelan.
Caelan, not really appreciative of the moment,
was a little preoccupied looking at the people
stopping to wave at him.
This past Sunday, we took a family trip to Annapolis, MD.
What a perfect day for it. The weather was partly cloudy but warm, about 65 degrees. Really nice!
We spent the day walking around, talking to ducks and
looking at the water and boats. We enjoyed a yummy lunch
and then took a 40 min boat tour. We finished our trip up with some much needed ice cream, mmmmmmm.
Another fun memory created for the Kinzer Clan!

Mmmmmmm, Yogurt!

Today, I started to feed Caelan his yogurt,
well he wanted nothing of that.
He had to do it himself.
I was so proud, he cleaned out the cup!

Mr. Jamima

You wanted syrup on those pancakes, right?

Continuing Through the Apprentice Program

Caelan watches intently and takes notes
as the master chef is at work.

18 Months Old and Fresh Breath

Well the little man is now 18 mos old, he weighs 26.6 lbs, is 34.35 inches tall (95th percentile), wears sz 7 shoe and his skills and talents are growing leaps and bounds daily. (His 18 mos birthday is actually the 27th, I was having a pregnant moment the morning I taped this!)

Caelan shows us every day how eager he is to learn. He is saying so many words and tackles new words he doesn't know. He loves to brush his teeth, wash his hands and watch mommy and daddy cook in the kitchen, now that he had his little step stool. He loves to read books and actually will sit through the entire story! Wow! His new favorite toys are "guys" (little army figures), balls, trucks and anything he can put together or that has parts that twist apart. He loves to listen to music! When we are listening to a CD and one song ends he says "more, more", I have to reassure him another song is coming. Also, he is a crazy dancin machine!

He is becoming quite the social butterfly. Anyone we pass in the hall, elevator or on the sidewalk, he waves vigorously and says "Hi, Hi, Hi". I think he has brought some smiles out in people we wouldn't normally have seen smile. It's awesum to watch!

Every day he wants to see my belly, kisses it and says "Baby, Baby". I wonder if he was any idea what's in store? Ha! (4 more weeks to go!)
