Washington Design Center

"Artist Studio" designed by Lori Ludwick

"Dining Room" designed by Christine Hecht Payne

Accent wall art in Beverly Claiborne's "Foyer"
I loved this piece, it changed as you walked around it from different views!

Caelan being silly!

MaKenna and Morgan having some fun!
On 10/22 I had an amazing opportunity to see some great design and Caelan and MaKenna tagged along. My friend Cindy who is in my mom's group and an interior designer invited me to see the Fall Design House at the Washington Design Center. This is an ongoing display of rooms designed by area interior designers.
Yes I was giddy with excitement to one, be doing something grown up and two, have it design related! I soaked up every moment in each room. Caelan, MaKenna and Morgan, Cindy's daughter, were all troopers! I can't wait until the next Design House, open house! And all Caelan talks about is riding the train again, hee!

Those little eyes are so amazing!
(Look closely and in her eyes you can see me taking the picture.)
10/20/09 We had to take advantage of the amazing weather! So off to open gym first to burn some energy then outside for some fresh air!

St. Mary's Oyster Festival

MaKenna gives the hotel bed a quick try...and approves

St. Mary's County in Leonardtown, Maryland

We gear up for some playin in the rain

These are the "tables" that were set up for the shucking & eating
of some serious oysters. They all had shucking knives attached,
for your convience.

Caelan, of course, found the shucking knives right away!

MaKenna & I stop for a glamour shot

We were so lucky to have been a part of history in the making! (Hee)

Din-din
Shawn had the oysters, which he thoroughly enjoyed,
I had a crab stuffed pretzel, YUM!
and Caelan had a one of a kind St. Mary's County Oyster Fest....hamburger.
Later I had some seafood chowder which was amazing.

Hi!
October 16 and 17th the Kinzer Clan journeyed to the far off distant land of Maryland for the St. Mary's County Oyster Fest. I personally do not like oysters in the least bit but am always up for some fun family time together! We head out on Friday, make a quick stop at Bass Pro Shop (of course) then on to Leonardtown, Maryland. After many, many, many, and did I say many, hours on the road in the worst traffic ever, we arrive at our hotel and crash. The following morning we head down for breakfast and noticed we were in the presence of greatness...the 1988 Oyster Shucking Champion! (We knew this because he had his jacket that stated this proudly draped over his chair, for all to see. Ha.) I really wanted to ask him for his autograph! After we composed ourselves we headed back to the room to pack our best wet weather gear, as we were in the middle of a nor'easter storm. A little "sprinkle" is not going to stop this family! Regardless of the wet weather and chill, we had a blast, some awesum food and once again,
another Kinzer Clan family memory was made!
