St. Mary's County in Leonardtown, Maryland
We gear up for some playin in the rainof some serious oysters. They all had shucking knives attached,
for your convience.
Shawn had the oysters, which he thoroughly enjoyed,
I had a crab stuffed pretzel, YUM!
and Caelan had a one of a kind St. Mary's County Oyster Fest....hamburger.
Later I had some seafood chowder which was amazing.
October 16 and 17th the Kinzer Clan journeyed to the far off distant land of Maryland for the St. Mary's County Oyster Fest. I personally do not like oysters in the least bit but am always up for some fun family time together! We head out on Friday, make a quick stop at Bass Pro Shop (of course) then on to Leonardtown, Maryland. After many, many, many, and did I say many, hours on the road in the worst traffic ever, we arrive at our hotel and crash. The following morning we head down for breakfast and noticed we were in the presence of greatness...the 1988 Oyster Shucking Champion! (We knew this because he had his jacket that stated this proudly draped over his chair, for all to see. Ha.) I really wanted to ask him for his autograph! After we composed ourselves we headed back to the room to pack our best wet weather gear, as we were in the middle of a nor'easter storm. A little "sprinkle" is not going to stop this family! Regardless of the wet weather and chill, we had a blast, some awesum food and once again,
another Kinzer Clan family memory was made!
