Earthquake!

Wednesday 2/10/10 3:59 a.m.
Aurora was the 18 miles from the epicenter (Elgin, Plank Rd, farm field)
3.8 Magnitude, lasted approximately five seconds
I was sound asleep when it hit, but what woke me was my bed shaking so bad it was hitting the wall and the windows were rattling. The shaking felt like it took forever and the roar I could hear outside was incredible. It sounded like a freight train going by. When the shaking finally stopped, I jumped up and ran to Mom & Dad's room. Mom was awake and just staring at me, "What was that!?" Half joking, half serious I said, "That was an earthquake!" The next day everyone was talking about it. It was hilarious to see the people who slept throught it, my impression is that they feel like they really missed out!
I know it's something I will never forget!
