Downtown Reston, Va

8-24-09 Daytrip to downtown Reston, Va. We started with an incredibly delicious lunch at an upscale retro diner. Then lots of walking and some spoiling by my hubby, mmmmmm... shopping. We spent some time at the fountain in the center of downtown, before we got scolded by a "security" guard. Then home again, home again jiggity jigg.

When Caelan was first given the stick and told to hit the pinata, he wasn't sure what to do. He basically was being told to do everything we have taught him not to do up to this point. After seeing the other kids whack at it he got the hang of it and was eager for a turn.

8-15-09 We celebrated Caelan's second birthday. (Actual birthday 8-27-09.) It was a Cars / Elmo party. All day he went around saying "Happy Birthday", "Happy Birthday". We had some great food, of course, the grand pinata, we attempted a game but the attention span was approximately 5.2 seconds, cake then presents. Caelan had such a great time, as well as all the kids (and Mommy too!) Happy Birthday Bubba!

I had blown up a bunch of balloons while Caelan was napping. When he came into the room and saw all the balloons, he got so excited and ran into the pile of balloons, yelling with glee.

On 8-14-09 was the prep day for Caelan's big birthday party. He was so excited to help get everything ready. I had been talking to him all week about his party, who was coming, the pinata and the cupcakes. So yes, he was excited. He even was singing Happy Birthday to himself for days ahead of time. (I love to hear his little singing voice.)

8-9-09 A fun filled day of wedding appointments. Jen is getting married 11-7-09 and so much still to do. The day began with a make-up trial run. Jen looked beautiful! Then off to try on bridesmaid dresses, I'm the matron of honor. A yummy lunch was squeezed in then we headed to the Cheney Mansion in Oak Park, where the ceremony and reception will be held. The mansion was amazing inside and out! We had a blast!

Aunt Robin sent us a recipe for breakfast popcicles.

One banana dipped in yogurt, rolled in oh's, then freeze. Caelan loved it!

Within a week of being at Grandma's he had gotten some major booboo's. The first event involved his forehead, nose, top lip, outsides of his hands and knees. I'll say no more...

So glad I'm safe and sound in my carseat!

8-2-09 My mom, Caelan and Chris took his boat out for the day. MaKenna and I spent some quiet time at home. Caelan was so excited about the boat, and then Chris told Caelan to take over and literally let him steer. Now, he is constantly talking about Chris' boat.

Brookfield Zoo

This welcoming dino has left an impact on the Kinzer family. It roars then spits water. Caelan was traumatized by the roar. Every day he talks about this dinosaur and now has taken to spitting. We can't get him to stop!

7/31/09 We took a trip out to the Brookfield Zoo with all the cousins

and Aunt Jeanne. Fun was had by all!
